Aikido is a non competitive Japanese martial art that focus on non
resistant flowing. There is an emphasis on moving and getting to the
right place in the right time, so you avoid strikes while blending
with the attack and redirect the energy.
Learning to fall and roll safely is a big part of Aikido. It allows
us to practice getting back up and go at it again and again. Safety
is the top concern, then comes fun and self growth. It is a joyful
and interesting journey that let us practice connection, awareness,
building resilience, getting calmer and happier. All while sweating
and being active.
Practices are done according to the pace and level that works for
both partners so it suites everybody, all ages (the ad says 18-70
but there can be exceptions) in all levels of physical shape.
